I am building my first ar15. I've been lurking here for a while. I have an aero m4e1 stripped lower. I was wondering if a Larue UU would go well with an aero lower. The BCG is what was submitted to the GOVT for the program, LWRC sells it separately for $299. Considering this is a $1000-$1200 rifle depending on color I find that an incredible value. The benefits of the LWRC over other $1k-1.2k guns goes on and on...The Larue would us the nicer set of forgings. You can get nicer barrels than a Larue but most of them are going to run a lot more. Expect to pay $400-550 for something nicer than a Larue barrel. For the money Larue is really nice. I'm looking for something with ambi bolt catch / release. My Seekins SP10 lower fit but the bolt catch rubs on the upper. I would suggest the cheaper route and go Armalite DEF10, but you still gotta free float it, change the trigger and stock, get some sights/optics. But its complete, ready to run out of the box. But wont be as accurate as the Larue. But Id imagine would be more reliable simply because the Larue runs on ...The upper (which has the handguard built in) was $650. Barrel was $380. eBCG was $315. The market has proved that knights has outpaced Larue as collectibles and a more desirable weapon system; just look at sr-25s, kac bipods, and suppressors.I'm trying to decide between buying a Larue 7.62 PredatOBR or assembling a similar rifle using Larue's ultimate upper kits. Doing some quick pricing, it seems like I could assemble one for ~$1800, while the PredatOBR is $3300. I guess the better comparison would be the 7.62 PredatAR, but if I bought the complete rifle I would likely go tOBR....
