Subpar Survivors is a mod that adds more realistic and diverse NPCs to Project Zomboid, a zombie survival game. It is based on Superb Survivors, but with more fixes, features and balance changes.

By default there's unique survivors that always spawn in certain locations. I turn that off tho cuz I don't like it. Otherwise the best way I found is just driving around looking for some people wildly fleeing zombies or having a shootout like madmen. I always have that one survivor who's my favorite with a backstory I gave him and everything and it's always that survivor that gets killed by something stupid I did. I currently use Superb Survivors & it works well enough for me. In my playthroughs, I try to save a group of them & have them wander around my base performing basic tasks, like putting all the corpses in a pile. They can be a bit buggy though. If left off screen for a while, a npc can decimate a large amount of zombies.
