Schiit bifrost 2 64

Dec 19, 2022 · I haven't tried the Bifrost 2/64 yet. I do have the Bifrost 2. I just haven't splurged $300 to try the new 2/64 version of the plug-in DAC card yet. I'm happy with the sound of the Bifrost 2 Analog Devices version. I don't know how the Texas Instruments 2/64 version sounds in comparison.

The LIM is known for having amazing timbre and silent blackground but flat treble response. The BF 2/64 has slightly more pronounced treble response according to most reviews I've read and that's a good thing for my setup. I'd guess that LIM offers maybe another 10% improvement in only a few ways for 300% the price. To some that price is worth it. The Bifrost 2 has taking a major step in the chips it uses which are very similar now to the Gungnir and Yggdrasil but a slightly lesser specced version. The BF2 runs the AD5781ARUZ chips and the Gungnir runs the AD5781BRUZ.
