During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Cathedral of the Rockies family banned together to open a food pantry in an effort to end food insecurity in Boise. All these years later, our food pantry helps save 55 families, around 300 individuals, from food insecurity each week. Even so, we still have a lot of work to do, and you can help!

Currently, we are distributing enough food to provide upwards of 175,000 meals every day. Food Bank of the Rockies is doing its best to meet this increased demand. In March and April of this year, we spent more than $1.3 million to purchase food, more than three-times as much as we were spending in 2019.After thousands of Afghan citizens were forced to flee to the U.S. in 2021, Food Bank of the Rockies took action. Through our Culturally Responsive Food Initiative (CRFI), which provides people with familiar as well as nutritious food, we distributed over 3,400 food boxes tailored to traditional Afghan cuisine.
